Chelsea Honea, LPC, LISAC
Hello! My name is Chelsea. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology with a specialization in couple and family therapy from the University of Colorado Denver, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor / Substance Abuse Counselor. My primary focus is working with individuals and those in relationships, addressing a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, substance use, multicultural and social justice issues, and maintaining stable mental health.
My approach to therapy centers on creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I use systemic, multicultural, and strengths-based perspectives to help clients identify and work toward their goals. My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative, blending insight with practical tools. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work with thought and behavior patterns, parts work to build internal understanding, and attachment and systems perspectives to explore how identity, culture, and relationships shape your experience. We will also develop and practice skills for coping, boundaries, and communication.
Taking the first step can be difficult when shame, time, cost, or past experiences get in the way. I am committed to social justice and to tailoring care to your values, needs, and goals. Together, we can address what’s holding you back, create a realistic plan, and track progress over time. If you’re ready for support, I invite you to reach out to see if we’re a good fit.
