Carissa Fenceroy, Intern
My name is Carissa (she, her, hers). I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska in 2017. I am currently a graduate student at Arizona State University, and I am completing an internship at Brazen Therapy. I have had the great honor of working with children, families, and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Through assisting families involved in the child welfare system and other settings, I noticed the need for mental health services in many different communities. This observation led me to address this need by continuing my education.
My approach to providing therapeutic services is to be client-centered and allow for full self-determination, empowering clients to take the lead in their own mental health care. I naturally have a positive and strengths based perspective. I also practice from a systems and environmental approach, so I understand how relationships, race and culture, and policy can affect the people I serve. It is important to me to "meet people where they are," and I make sure to do that when working with them. During our time together, I will support you in managing stress, building healthy relationships, and gaining self-efficacy and sufficiency.
I offer my services on a sliding fee basis.
