Mimi (Xiaojun) Jiang, Counseling Intern

Hi, my name is Mimi. Welcome in! I am a counselor-in-training completing my Master of Counseling degree at Arizona State University. I support individuals who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, identity exploration, cultural adjustment, and life transition-related stress. As a practitioner with cross-cultural experiences and identities, I am deeply interested in how cultures and society shape the ways we understand ourselves and the world around us. I am especially passionate about working with individuals who hold intersecting identities, including relational, racial and cultural, gender and sexual identities. This includes young adults, college and international students, and LGBTQ+ clients.

I provide counseling in English and Mandarin Chinese. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. In our sessions, we may work on understanding the difficult emotions you have been carrying, identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns, building practical coping skills, and exploring relationship patterns and their impacts. I draw from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to support clients in ways that fit their needs and goals. Together, we will work toward helping you feel more grounded, connected, and empowered in your daily life.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, respect, and curiosity. As a counselor-in-training, I value lifelong learning, cultural humility, and openness. My hope is to create an affirming, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where you can feel heard, accepted, and empowered to explore who you are, where you are now, and who you are becoming.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy playing mobile games, listening to pop music, singing, and playing guitar. I bring warmth, joy, and a sense of humor into my relationships. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you as we work together.
