Hi, I'm Riana. If you've spent most of your life feeling like your emotions are too much or like you're constantly bracing for something to go wrong, you're not broken. You're probably just exhausted from carrying more than most people realize. I work with adults who grew up having to figure things out on their own, often because the people who were supposed to be there for them were unreliable. Maybe your parents or caretaker was unpredictable, dismissive, selfish, or just emotionally unavailable. That kind of upbringing leaves scars not just in your memories but how your nervous system reacts and how you relate to the world.
I don't just hand you a worksheet and call it therapy. I'm genuinely present with you in session which means I'm also paying attention to what's happening in your body and not just your words. I'll teach you grounding skills from DBT without rushing through it to check a box but actually using it in session to learn how to ride out an overwhelming emotion.
