Welcome! My name is Carissa (she, her, hers). I have had the great honor of working with children, families, and individuals of all ages and backgrounds in various capacities throughout my career. My experience includes working in the child welfare system, supporting parents in developing parenting and self-sufficiency skills to help reunify their families. I have also worked as a home visitor, guiding pregnant and parenting teenagers as they strive to reach their goals for success. Additionally, my role as a school social worker allowed me to teach elementary children conflict resolution and emotional regulation skills in both individual and group settings.

 

With eight years of experience in social work, I have developed strong skills in supporting individuals facing multiple sources of stress and helping them create solution-focused plans to navigate life’s challenges. My approach to therapeutic services is client-centered, empowering individuals to take the lead in their mental health journey. I naturally adopt a strengths-based and solution-focused perspective, always working to validate and affirm the unique experiences of those I serve. I also practice from a systems and environmental lens, recognizing how relationships, culture, and broader societal factors can impact well-being.

My role is to support you in managing stress, building healthy relationships, and creating meaningful change in your life.Although I am currently an intern, my extensive background in social work, combined with my ongoing training to become a therapist, allows me to provide skilled and compassionate care. You can feel confident knowing that I bring both experience and dedication to helping you on your journey.
