Kira McSherry, Counseling Intern

I’m Kira McSherry (she/her), an intern therapist at Brazen Therapy and a Master of Counseling student at Arizona State University. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Human and Family Development from ASU, which contributes to my understanding of relational patterns, family dynamics, and development across the lifespan.

I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe exploring their emotions, relationships, and life experiences at their own pace. My approach is trauma-informed and relational, with attention to attachment, family dynamics, belonging, and the ways life transitions impact emotional well-being.

My clinical perspective is influenced by both training and lived experience, including my perspective as an adoptee and my understanding of how ADHD, adoption, the adoption triad, grief and loss, trauma, and attachment inform the ways people experience themselves and their relationships. I am committed to supporting individuals and relationships as they navigate connection, change, and emotional growth. I approach this work with openness and curiosity, meeting clients where they are and honoring each person’s lived experience. I remain flexible and responsive to their unique needs, valuing collaborative work that supports them as active participants in their own healing and growth.

Outside the therapy room, I’m married and a mom, and these roles deepen my appreciation for the complexities of relationships, connection, and family life. I also value ongoing learning and enjoy reading, attending sporting events, and staying active, which help me stay grounded and balanced.
