Robin Burnam, Social Work Intern

Hello, my name is Robin Burnam, and I am a Master of Social Work intern from Arizona State University. I am originally from Ohio (Go Bucks!) and relocated to Arizona four years ago. I bring over 20 years of experience supporting teenagers and young adults on college and university campuses, where I have worked with individuals navigating a wide range of academic, personal, and emotional challenges. In my personal time, I enjoy outdoor activities with my family and supporting the arts at concerts, galleries, and live theatre performances.

My clinical interests include supporting adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, grief, and relationship concerns. I understand that life can be unpredictable and confusing at times, and believe that each person is the expert in their own life. Finding someone with the right skill set to support you and who provides a space where you feel safe and accepted is the most important part of the therapeutic process.

I take a compassionate, client-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy, working collaboratively with clients to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for healing and growth. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and incorporates solution-focused interventions, mindfulness techniques, and motivational interviewing to support clients in identifying their strengths, building resilience, and working toward client-focused goals.

I am committed to honoring each client’s lived experience and supporting individuals of all ages and backgrounds with respect, empathy, and cultural humility. I am currently completing my MSW degree and provide clinical services under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker.
